My name is Jeff Guzman, and I’m the heart behind KC Mobility Scooter Rentals LLC. After 20 years as an Army Military Police Sergeant First Class (retired 2022), I traded boots for business — but never lost my mission to serve.
At 1 a.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, driving to my uncle’s funeral, I heard a podcast about a mobility rental business in LA. It hit me like a calling. I called my wife — my high school sweetheart of 22 years — and said, “We’re doing this in Kansas City.”
Three months later, on July 28, 2023, we launched. By October 2025, we’ve delivered over 400 rentals — each one a story of freedom restored.

A Life of Service, A Foundation of Family:
For 20 years, I served as an active-duty Military Police Soldier, retiring in 2022 as a Sergeant First Class. Those years taught me resilience, discipline, and the profound importance of serving others. But my greatest strength comes from my family—the cornerstone of everything I do. My wife, my high school sweetheart, and I have celebrated 22 years of marriage, a bond that grows stronger every day. Together, we’ve raised two incredible children and share our home with a lively crew of pets. They are my rock, my inspiration, and the driving force behind my mission to make a difference.
A Midnight Revelation That Changed Everything:
The idea for KC Mobility Scooter Rentals was born in an unexpected moment of clarity at 1 a.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Driving alone to attend my uncle’s funeral, I tuned into a Side Hustle Nation podcast featuring Lenny Tim, who ran LA Mobility Rentals in Los Angeles. His story of providing mobility scooters to help people reclaim their independence struck a chord deep within me. It wasn’t just a business idea—it was a calling. I called my wife at midnight Kansas time, my heart racing with excitement. Her experience as an agent helping visually impaired individuals navigate their world gave her an instant understanding of the impact this could have. She didn’t just listen; she shared my vision, and together, we knew we could bring something truly special to Kansas City.
Three months later, on July 28, 2023, KC Mobility Scooter Rentals LLC was born. What began as a midnight epiphany has grown into a thriving mission, with over 400 rentals provided by October 2025. Each rental represents a person whose life we’ve touched, whose freedom we’ve restored, and whose smile fuels our purpose.
Expanding Our Business to Serve More:
As our vision grew, so did our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our community. KC Mobility Scooter Rentals LLC has expanded beyond mobility scooters to offer a full range of mobility solutions, including wheelchairs, transport chairs, knee scooters, and rollators. This expansion allows us to serve people with a wider range of mobility challenges, ensuring that everyone—whether recovering from an injury, managing a disability, or seeking greater independence—can access the equipment they need. Every wheelchair, transport chair, knee scooter, and rollator we provide is a step toward empowering someone to live life on their terms.
